Storms Dudley and Eunice
|
The Met Office has issued a warning across the UK as storms Eunice and Dudley are set to batter the country with 80mph winds. A yellow weather warning is in place this week in London, and residents of the capital will need to brace themselves for the oncoming storm.
According to Met Office chief meteorologist Paul Gundersen, the weather phenomenon is caused by an active jet stream that is "driving low-pressure systems across the country, both of which are likely to cause some disruption". The Met Office has put a weather warning in place for Friday (February 18) across London.
Storm Eunice is likely to hit London and the surrounding areas on Friday, with Storm Dudley affecting more northern regions on Wednesday and Thursday. The impact of Storm Dudley will be felt as far south as parts of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, but narrowly avoid London.
BE VERY CAREFUL OUT THERE !!!!!

Not a great place to be stuck for a few days, you could camp out in The Worlds End...

Dudley and Eunice sound like the nice, retired couple who live next door. They feed your cat while you’re on holiday and give you a box of biscuits every Christmas. Not the type who will rip down your garden fence and knock tiles off your roof.

this endless westerly SHITE is doing nothing for surf conditions. a drop in wind or easterly swing would be extremely welcome but these two cunts want nothing to do with it.

Looking at the storm tracking models and wind velocities, Friday night rush hour will be interesting with winds between 40-60MPH and gusts between 80-100MPH in Londinium.

bruuuno - I would check to make sure it's open. Most likely just closed to high-sided vehicles.

ted fenton 7:03 - Erm you're the WHO weather expert yo!
It doesn't look good at the moment, it should be sustained high winds from around midday for 6-8 hours but as always the storm that's passing through now will change the dynamics of the atmosphere so tomorrows models will give a better idea. Also the European ones are always more accurate and better short term. But i'd say batten down the hatches and conservatories.
